She said: "Please if anyone at all has seen him get in touch we are all so worried this is so out of character for him he has no phone money or anything. Please come home dad."

The 43-year-old, known as Stef, is described as bald, six foot two, of stocky build and with brown eyes.

He was wearing grey ‘Adidas’ (three stripes) zipper jacket with hood, black cargo trousers and training shoes.

Inspector Paul Daley said:“Stephen’s family say that it is completely out of character for Stephen to disappear like this and they are becoming increasingly concerned as time passes.

"They urge him to get in contact to let them know that he is safe.

Local officers are making enquiries in the area in an attempt to find out where Stephen has gone since yesterday morning.

"I ask anyone who has seen or anyone who knows of his present whereabouts to contact police at Drumchapel immediately via 101 quoting incident number 5396 of June 15."
