Missing person Dominic McGuigan sparks PSNI appeal

Police in Co Armagh are currently looking a for missing person.

A Facebook post on PSNI Newry, Mourne and Down said Dominic McGuigan went missing from the Whitecross area in South Armagh on Tuesday night.

It added: "Dominic is approximately 5’10” tall and wearing a grey hooded top, dark jeans and black trainers.

"If you see Dominic, or know where he is, please contact us on 101 and quote reference 1834 of 22/12/2020. Thank you."

Meanwhile, a teenager had a knife held to his throat during a violent house raid, police say.

The PSNI are hunting the gang behind the “unbelievably distressing” attack in Derry on Tuesday morning.

In a statement, they say detectives at Strand Road in Derry are investigating an aggravated burglary at a property in Upper Bennet Street.

Three masked men, police added, “at least one of whom is believed to have been armed with a knife, forced their way into the house at around 10.30am”.

A spokesman said: “They threatened the occupants, two males aged 24 and 17, demanding money. A knife was held to the throat of the teenager and the older man was assaulted and punched several times in the face before the intruders fled with a mobile phone.”
