A 36-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a pensioner, found beheaded in woods more than 200 miles from her home.
Jemma Mitchell, 36, of Brondesbury Park, Brent, northwest London was arrested on July 6 and has since been charged with the murder of Mee Chong, 67.
The victim - known to her friends as 'Debbie' - had been reported missing from her home in Wembley, northwest London on June 11.
She was found in an area of woodland near to Bennett Road in Salcombe, in South Devon on June 27.
A post-mortem took place at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital on Monday June 28, but the cause of death has not yet been ascertained.
Mitchell is due to appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates' Court today.
On July 6, further enquiries undertaken by Devon and Cornwall Police in South Devon and the London area led to a murder investigation being launched by the Met's Specialist Crime Command.
Crime scenes remain in place at two residential addresses in northwest London and at woodland in South Devon. Police searches are likely to continue over the coming days.
Miss Chong was originally from Malaysia but had been living in Wembley for over 30 years.
