A missing mum whose newborn baby was discovered abandoned in a park has been found following an eight month police search.
The baby boy, who was named George by hospital staff after he was found the day before St George's Day, was just hours old when he was spotted under a bush.
A man walking his dog found him wearing a £1 Matalan T-shirt and wrapped in a grubby blanket at The Mounds in Kings Norton, Birmingham, at 5.30pm on April 22 after his pet pooch discovered the tot and began nudging him.
West Midlands Police immediately launched an urgent appeal to find the mum and released an e-fit and CCTV images of the woman.
However following an eight-month search, detectives have today revealed the mother has been found and is being given "the support and care she needs."
The force said detectives had found the newborn's mother after pursuing more than 1,000 lines of inquiry.

In a statement, police thanked the public and media for their support in finding the mother, calling the response "overwhelming" and "instrumental" in their search.
A police spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating after a baby boy was abandoned in King's Norton in April have identified the baby's mother.
"The baby was found on The Mounds, off Shannon Road on Thursday 22 April. He was found clothed and wrapped in a blanket by a dog walker.
"He is doing really well and is being well cared for.
"The support from the public and media has been instrumental in identifying the mother.
"West Midlands Police received an overwhelming response with more than 1,000 lines of enquiry and have since been able to locate the baby's mother.
"As stated in our public appeals, our priority was always to ensure mum was safe and supported."
Police confirmed that the woman would face "no further action" and would receive continuing support from social services.
A police spokesperson added: "This is a very upsetting case, we would ask you not to speculate any further, as this is deeply distressing for those concerned.

"We would like to thank you for all your help and support in what has been a very sensitive and emotive matter for everyone including investigators who have worked tirelessly to ensure this outcome. We wish the baby all the best in the future."
The little boy was found by a husky dog named Hel who was being walked by her owner, semi-retired royal engineer Terry Walsh.
He said Hel lay beside a rolled-up shawl and began "gently nudging "the baby with her nose.
Speaking about the remarkable discovery, Terry, 65, said: "I turned round to grab hold of Hel so she didn't walk over the glass, and she went off to the blanket, lying next to it and started nudging it with her nose very gently.
"Suddenly I heard this baby cry. I think it was Hel's gentle nudging and the heat from my Husky's body that woke the baby up.
"I thank the Lord that the baby was alive, that could've been a lot worse.
"The baby could've been dead. I said to my neighbours, Heaven sent Hel to rescue newborn baby boy!"
