A mother and her ten-year-old son have been found 'safe and well' by police after going missing in the Highlands.
Linda Newlands, 30, and ten-year-old son, Andrew Baird, were declared missing after last being seen in the Ross Place area of Dingwall around 7.40pm on Wednesday.
After an urgent appeal by officers, who believed the pair may have been making their way to Edinburgh, they have since been located.
Police in the Highlands thanked the public for their assistance in locating them.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We are pleased to confirm that Linda Newlands, 30, and her 10-year-old son Andrew Baird, reported missing from the Dingwall area, have been traced safe and well.
"Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal."
