Missing Manchester man believed to be in Glasgow as family 'extremely worried'

A 40-year-old man reported missing from Manchester five days ago may have since travelled to Glasgow.

Police say Himmet Singh was last seen near the Smiths Hotel in Sauchiehall Street, and the Hampton Court Hotel in Renfrew Street, on Friday evening.

A missing person appeal was launched by Greater Manchester Police on Tuesday and CCTV images of Mr Singh have since been released.

Police officers now believe he may have travelled to north to Glasgow and are appealing to the public to help find him.

Mr Singh is described as 5ft 9ins, with short shaved black hair at the back and sides and longer hair on top, and a short groomed beard.

He was last seen wearing a grey jumper, navy blue jeans, a dark coloured parka jacket with a furry hood and brown coloured boots.

Inspector Bart Simonis, of Baird Street Police Station, said: “Himmet has been going through a difficult time recently and his family are extremely worried about him.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have seen Himmet in the Glasgow area, or has any information on his whereabouts, to come forward.

“I would also urge Himmet to please make contact with someone to confirm he is safe and well.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1152 of Saturday, 2 October, 2021.”
