Missing man with dementia has still not returned home

*Update: Police confirmed on Friday, March 29 that Mr Farrell had been found safe and well.*

An elderly man with dementia is still missing from home.

John Farrell was last seen on Westhead Avenue in Kirkby at around 2.30pm on Thursday but has not been seen since.

The 82-year-old is described as a white male, 6ft tall, with grey hair which is balding in areas.

According to police , when he was last seen, John was wearing a grey fleece jumper with a black and red pattern.

He was also wearing green cargo trousers and black shoes.

John is known to frequent Kirkby town centre , Garston and Liverpool city centre , and people in these areas are being asked to look out for him.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for help in tracing an 82-year-old man who is missing from home.

"John Farrell, who suffers from dementia, was last seen in Westhead Avenue, Kirkby at 2.30pm today, Thursday, 28 March.

"Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for his whereabouts and anyone who has seen John or anyone fitting his description is asked to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 or contact @missingpeople on 116 000."
