Missing man who vanished from Stornoway was last seen driving white car

A missing man in the Highlands has sparked a massive police search.

Alex MacKay was reported missing from Stornoway, the main town of the Western Isles, on Monday.

The 57-year-old was last seen driving a white Ford Mondeo in the town on Monday morning.

The time of this last sighting it yet to be confirmed.

The registration plate of the car was FJ65 YPE.

Police are urging anyone who has seen Alex, or the car, or those with information to get in touch.

A Highlands and Islands Police Division spokesperson said: "Police are appealing to the public to help trace Alex MacKay, 57, who has been reported missing from Stornoway today, Monday, November, 2020.

"Alex was last seen this morning driving a white Ford Mondeo, registration FJ65 YPE. 

"If you have seen Alex or the car, then please contact Police in Stornoway via 101 quoting reference number 0876 of Monday, November 30."
