Missing man Paul Nuth found dead in River Usk in Newport

A body has been found following a search for man reported missing from home in Newport.

Paul Nuth, 56, was reported missing on March 30 after last being seen four days earlier.

Gwent Police confirmed on Easter Sunday that a body had been found in the River Usk in Newport on Saturday at around 11.55am and it had been formally identified as Mr Nuth.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "We received a call at around 11.55am on Saturday, April 11, as the body of a man was found in the River Usk in Newport, near East Way Road.

"The body was recovered and we can confirm that the man has been formally identified as Paul Nuth, 56, of Newport, who was reported missing on Thursday, March 26, to Gwent Police.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Paul at this difficult time."
