Police have issued an appeal to trace Mark Gordon, reported missing from Uddingston .
The 38-year-old was last seen on Bredisholm Crescent at around 5pm on Friday (May 31) and his family has’t been able to reach him since- but his black Vauxhall Insignia vehicle was since sighted on the M74 /A74, heading towards the Carlisle or Gretna areas.
Cops say it is unclear if Mark was in the car and where he is now - and that there is growing concern for his welfare.
Inspector Nicola Black said: “This behaviour is considered out of character for Ian and we are eager to trace him as soon as possible.
“Anyone who knows Ian’s whereabouts, or recognises his description, is asked to contact us immediately.”
Mark is white, of heavy build and around 5ft 11. He has short dark hair, a dark beard and a skull tattoo on his arm.
He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms with black shoes but officers say it is possible he may have changed his clothing.
Inspector Andrew MacDonald, Police Office, said: "Mark has been going through some personal issues lately and therefore his family are growingly increasingly worried as time goes on.
"We have been speaking to those who know Mark as well as trying to trace his car in an effort to trace him and make sure he is okay.
"Enquiries carried out so far show that his vehicle was driven down the M74/A74 as far as the Carlisle or Gretna areas this evening however we are still trying to establish if he as any links in these areas.
"We are appealing for anyone who knows Mark, has spoken to him recently, or has seen a black Vauxhall Insignia in the Gretna or Carlisle area this evening to get in touch with us.
"Mark, we would also appeal to you directly to contact us, we just want to make sure you are safe and well."
