Missing man, 65, last seen in Grand Crossing

Police are looking for a man who was last seen walking to the Red Line in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

Joe Grooms, 65, was last seen at 4 a.m. Monday near the 1500 block of East 72nd Street, Chicago police said. He was headed to a Red Line station and was wearing a green hooded jacket with a white stripe and the words “United Security” on the right chest area. Grooms was also wearing a white button-down shirt, black pants and black dress shoes.

He frequents the area of Cermak Street and the 2200 block of South Martin Luther King Drive, police said.

Grooms is 6-foot-2, 190 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair, police said.

Anyone with information about him is asked to contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
