Missing Llanelli man who turned up 'safe and well' is understood to have since been found dead

Tributes have been paid following the death of a man from Carmarthenshire .

He is understood to be Philip Magor, who went missing from his home in Llanelli at the beginning of the month, before being found 'safe and well', although there has been no formal identification.

Dyfed-Powys Police issued an appeal at the start of November after Mr Magor had not been seen after leaving his home at around 9.30am on Wednesday, November 6.

But last week officers released an update announcing that the 64-year-old had been located.

A spokeswoman for the force has now confirmed that police are investigating the sudden death of a male found in Aberystwyth, but explained that formal identification had not yet taken place.

The man was discovered on a beach in the town on Friday morning.

The Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the sudden death of a male who was found on the beach below Constitution Hill, Aberystwyth on Friday morning, November 22.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Next of kin have been advised. HM Coroner has been advised."

A cafe in Kidwelly , Time For Tea, said on Friday in a Facebook post that it would be temporarily closing following the death of Mr Magor.

It said Mr Magor had "passed away this morning".

A number of tributes were left on the site, with many sending their condolences and stating that they were "so sorry" to hear the news.
