Her mother wrote online: "A massive thank you to all the fantastic students who turned out to search for Libby Squire today.

She is obviously loved by so many. Russell and I have taken great comfort in this xxx."

Her daughter left the 'Welly' club at 11pm and was spotted sitting on a bench 45 minutes later around a mile away.

Over 70 police have been searching for her and 250 students scoured the university campus.

Police have described her as 5ft 7inches tall with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing a black long sleeved top, leather jacket and black denim skirt with lace when she was last seen.

The University of Hull said: "We know many of you are worried about Libby Squire and want to know what you can do to help.

"Humberside Police’s latest advice is for anyone living in the area to check their gardens and out buildings in case Libby has taken shelter.

"If anyone was driving around the area between 11pm Thursday night and 3am Friday morning and has dash cam footage, please come forward by contacting 101.

"We continue to work closely with Humberside Police in their search and are offering support to Libby’s family and friends."
