Missing Lanarkshire teenager Kerys Lynch traced safe and well

Police Scotland have issued an update on missing teenager Kerys Lynch, who had last been seen leaving Wishaw General Hospital last Wednesday.

Thankfully, it has been confirmed that Kerys has been traced safe and well as the public has been thanked for its assistance.

The 13-year-old disappeared after leaving the hospital around 9.25 pm last Wednesday.

Concern grew for the youngster's welfare after officers stepped up their efforts to find her this week.

It was the second time in less than a week that Kerys had gone missing, and Lanarkshire residents were asked to share a desperate plea for her whereabouts.

But Police Scotland today confirmed she has been found.

A spokesperson from the force said: "Good news! Kerys Lynch (13) who had been missing from Wishaw since Wednesday, 14 July, 2021, has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you all for your comments and shares."
