Missing Kilmarnock teenager traced safe and well after vanishing

A missing Kilmarnock teenager has been traced safe and well after disappearing at the weekend.

Shakira Horner vanished on Saturday night with her family leading the pleas for her to return home.

Speaking to the Kilmarnock Standard this evening, Shakira's mum Kelly Anne confirmed that her daughter was on her way home.

She said: "Shekira has been in contact and is on her way home."

Ayrshire Police Division also confirmed that the 17-year-old hairdressing student had been traced safe and well.

A statement from police said: "We can confirm that Shekira Horner, 17, who had been reported missing from her home in Kilmarnock has now been traced safe and well.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our earlier appeal."
