Missing Kilmarnock teen Shekira Horner found safe and well

A Kilmarnock teenager who was missing from her home has been found.

Shekira Horner, 17, had vanished on Saturday afternoon and was last seen heading towards Kilmarnock train station.

Her mum issued a plea urging for the hairdressing student to come home.

Detectives confirmed the teenager had been found safe and well on Monday evening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Shekira Horner, 17, who had been reported missing from her home in Kilmarnock has now been traced safe and well.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our earlier appeal.
