The family of a man reported missing from Wishaw are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Police have launched an appeal to trace John Dunnigan, 40, who has not been seen or heard from since Wednesday morning.
It's understood John travelled to Wishaw at around 11am on Wednesday, 14 April and called to say he was heading back to the Overton area at around 3pm, however he never arrived.
John’s family reported him missing on Thursday, 15 April. They said it is "extremely out of character" for him to not be in contact with them.
He is described as 5ft9, thin, with short brown hair which is greying, and grey facial hair.
He was last seen wearing a black Henleys jumper written on it, black jogging bottoms and a black hat.
Officers say John may have travelled to the Dundee area, where he is from originally, and are asking the public to look out for him.
Inspector Hugh Burns from Motherwell Police Station said: “John has never gone missing before and it is extremely out of character for him not to be in contact with his family for any length of time.
“They are becoming extremely worried about him and I am appealing to anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.
“It is possible John may have travelled to the Dundee area, where he is from originally, and I would urge people there to keep a look out for him a report any sightings to police.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2551 of Thursday, 15 April, 2021.”
