Missing Jay Ferguson: Airdrie schoolboy last seen on Thursday night

Police have launched an appeal in their search for missing Airdrie schoolboy Jay Ferguson.

The 15-year-old was last seen at Drumgelloch train station on Thursday night.

Police say he may have travelled to Musselburgh near Edinburgh.

A Lanarkshire Police Division statement reads: "We're appealing for information to help find a missing 15-year-old boy from Airdrie.

"Jay Ferguson was last seen at Drumgelloch train station in Airdrie around 7.10pm on Thursday, 23 July, 2020.

"It's believed he might have travelled to the Musselburgh area via Edinburgh on the train.

"Jay is described as 5ft 6in tall and was last seen wearing a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms and black trainers. He also had a silver bicycle."

Sergeant Steven Brown, based at Cumbernauld, commented: "We're appealing for the public's help to find Jay.

"Jay has gone missing before but it's important we make sure he's okay and I would ask anyone who has seen him to contact us."

Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3102 of 23 July.
