Missing Hunter pair found safe and well at Moree, police say

A man and child reported missing from the Hunter Region last week have been found safe and well in the state's north, police say.

Police publicly appealed for information last week as to the whereabouts of 57-year-old Michael Lantry and four-year-old Conner Lantry.

Investigators released images of the pair and the vehicle they were believed to be using on Friday.

The public appeal came after the man and child were reported missing earlier last week.

They had last been seen boarding a bus on Wollombi Road at Millfield headed for Cessnock about 8.30am on March 24.

Their relatives contacted police after the pair did not return home.

At the time, family and police held serious concerns for the welfare of the missing man and child due to the 57-year-old's health conditions and the age of the young boy.

Police said on Wednesday the pair were found "safe and well" at Moree in the early hours of that morning.
