A heavily modified Holden Commodore ute alleged to be the proceeds of crime has been surrendered to police months after raids of several properties in Canberra's south.
The Holden Commodore HSV Maloo was noticeably missing during raids of five properties, in which police also allegedly seized drugs, a jetski, three motorcycles, weapons, a go-kart and thousands of commemorative coins suspected of being stolen from the Royal Australian Mint.
Gordon man David Mark Williams was arrested on drug trafficking charges during the December 8 raids, after police allegedly seized $134,000 in cash and 800 grams of methamphetamine stashed in a different vehicle.
Police say the drugs had an estimated street value of more than $1.1 million.
The 37-year-old scaffolder was granted bail late last year and has subsequently been living under "house arrest".
The Holden Commodore HSV Maloo was surrendered recently after information was provided by members of the public.
During Mr Williams' bail hearing in December, the court heard he earned $65,000 a year as a scaffolder and had run a "sophisticated operation" to fund a "lavish lifestyle".
Mr Williams is due to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court again next week.
The ute and other confiscated assets will now be sold to fund crime prevention measures in the ACT, drug abuse prevention, drug rehabilitation and to assist victims of crime.
