Missing 'high-risk' man sparks urgent police search across Dumfries and Galloway

Cops have issued an urgent appeal to find a "high-risk" man who has been missing since this morning.

Lawrence Appleby, known as Larry or Taff, vanished from his home address in Gatehouse-of-Fleet, near Castle Douglas, this morning.

The 62-year-old suffers from mental health issues and concerns are growing for his welfare.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are currently carrying out a number of enquiries in relation to a High Risk missing person from the Gatehouse of Fleet area, Castle Douglas.

"Lawrence Appleby, known as Larry or Taff, has went missing from his home address in Gatehouse of Fleet earlier this morning. He is 62 years of age and suffers poor mental health."
