Missing Hannah Yamanaka: Police find girl, 11, who was not seen since Monday evening

An 11-year-old girl who went missing from her home on Monday evening has today been found safe and well.

Police desperately searched for Hannah Yamanaka and were "very concerned for her welfare".

The youngster was reported missing from her home in Springfield, Chelmsford, on Monday at around 8.15am.

But this morning, Essex Police said: "Hannah Yamanaka, 11, who had been missing in #Chelmsford has now been found.

"Thank you for your shares, retweets and help."

The force initially said in a statement: "We’re concerned for her welfare and need to find her to make sure she’s ok."

Hannah is described as fair skinned, 5ft tall, slim and with shoulder length hair.

Officers hoped members of the public can help find the girl.

The force shared a picture of the girl taken outside, in which she is smiling warmly.

Essex Police's Facebook post in a desperate bid for information was shared more than 3,500 times in just two hours.

Scores of residents across the county and further afield commented to say they'd shared the appeal.

"Hope they find her," wrote one person on Facebook.
