Missing Greggs? The bakery chain is giving you tips on how to recreate classics at home

There's a lot of things to miss during lockdown.

Spending time with family, going out with friends, the pub. Remember those?

The other thing is popping out for your lunch and heading to your favourite place.

And if your favourite happens to be Greggs, they may have provided a temporary answer.

The bakery chain has launched its own DIY baking tutorials so you never need to be without a sausage roll or steak bake again.

Instead of DIY though, Greggs have dubbed it GIY - Greggs It Yourself - and have already starting sharing recipes to its Facebook page.

Want to make a Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt? (Greggs)

The first recipe you can try your hand at is its Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt.

All you need is puff pastry, cheese, beans, sausage and an egg.

To start, you need to cut two squares of puff pastry and egg wash the edges.

Then, mix the beans and chopped up sausage in a separate bowl before adding them to the middle of one of the squares.

Sprinkle with cheese then add the identical square on top.

Use a fork to seal the edges of the pastry, and use the rest of the egg wash across the top of the bake.

Now they're ready for the oven.

Bake at 180C for 20 minutes until golden brown and there you have it.

You're own Greggs without leaving the house.

The high-street store added to its post: "More easy-to-follow recipes on the way, so get your bake on and share your GIY creations using the hashtag."

We wonder what's next?
