Missing Gorebridge man Gillespie Cameron could be in Lanarkshire.

Police say that he has "links to the area" and may be there.

The 49-year-old went missing from a business premises in Bonnyrigg at 11am on Monday morning and fears have been growing for him.

He left the premises on High Street without telling anyone where he was going, and he hasn't returned home or been in contact with anyone since.

Police add that he is 6ft 3ins tall, of stocky build and with short dark brown, greying hair with stubble. He was wearing a grey fleece, blue jeans and brown boots.

Gorebridge man Gillespie Cameron reported missing after leaving 'business premises'

Lanarkshire Police Division posted on social media earlier today: "Our colleagues in Midlothian are looking to trace 49-year-old Gillespie Cameron from Gorebridge who went missing in Bonnyrigg.

"Gillespie has links to the Lanarkshire area and may be somewhere in this region.

"Anyone who believes they have seen him is asked to come forward."

Earlier this week, constable Christopher Howarth from  Dalkeith Police Station  said:  "Given that Gillespie has left the premises he was attending at, without telling anyone where he was going, we are obviously eager to locate him as soon as possible and ensure he is safe.

"As part of our enquiries we're asking anyone who may have seen him since 11am on Monday, or who has possible information on where we can find him, to contact police immediately."

Anyone with information should  contact police  on 101, quoting incident number 1248 of 1 April.
