Missing Gogglebox Siddiqui family member explains decision to stay hidden

Gogglebox family the Siddiquis are a firm favourite on the Channel 4 show, with father Sid, 73, and his sons Baasit, 34, Umar, 41, and sometimes Raza all entertaining the nation with their witty observations and one liners.

But there is one family member who has never appeared in front of the camera with the men - and that's mum Nasreen.

The matriarch has explained the reason why viewers have never seen her on the show, and never will.

“Oh no, it's not something for me," she said. "I don't speak very good English and I'm very shy.

"It's best left to the boys. You won't get me on the TV," she added, in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Nasreen and Sid, who have been married for nearly 40 years, also have two daughters, who do not appear on the programme either.

But Nasreen made a cameo on the family's Instagram account, run by Baasit, last year, and fans were delighted.

Baasit posted an adorable photo of Nasreen and Sid with granddaughter Amelia (thesiddiquis/Instagram)

Sid and Nasreen can be seen in the photo with granddaughter Amelia, with the caption: "I was trying to get a photo of all three of these guys staring at the camera and smiling!

"Dad is like a statue with that smile .... but Mum and Amelia we’re doing it on purpose.

"Each time one of them would smile the other would look the other way or swap!"

He added: "The Siddiqui ladies are a stubborn and cheeky bunch".

"You guys are the funniest family on gogglebox I always say I’d love to go out for a drink with you all your humour is great x," wrote another.

"Beautiful family," gushed a third.

Prince Harry revealed the Queen bought Archie a waffle maker (The Late Late Show with James Corden/Youtube)

The Siddiquis recently had viewers cackling as they mocked Prince Harry's admission that the Queen bought his son Archie a waffle maker.

During his interview with James Corden, Prince Harry revealed Queen Elizabeth bought his one-year-old son, who he shares with wife Meghan Markle, a waffle maker.

Watching the show, Umar joked: "So was this waffle maker an actual person?

"'I am here just to make your waffles!'" he mimicked, as his family erupted into hysterics.
