Missing Glasgow pensioner left house 'without phone or cash'

Police are searching for a missing Glasgow pensioner who left her home "insecure" without her phone or any money on her.

Linda McNichol has vanished from her home in the Knightswood area of the city and she hasn't been seen since 7am this morning (Saturday, July 24).

The 66-year-old is described as white, 5ft8 in height, of slim to medium build and white hair which is usually tied up.

It is not known what she is wearing.

Police are appealing for assistance from the public to help trace Linda.

Inspector Roland Fabiani, Police Scotland, said: "Linda doesn't venture out much and if she does it's usually to the local shops on Great Western Road or in the local area.

"So far we have established that she left home this morning 7 o'clock leaving the house insecure.

"We don't believe she has her phone or any money with her.

"Officers have been searching for her locally and speaking to family, friends and neighbours but no one has seen or heard from her so far today.

"We would ask people to keep a look out for her, maybe checking their back courts or gardens.

"Anyone who has seen her or who could assist officers with their search is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference number 1418 of Saturday, July 24."
