Glasgow man who sparked urgent police search after Christmas night out is found

A Glasgow man who went missing after his Christmas night out has been found safe and well.

John McMillan, 30, was last seen at the Savoy Nightclub on Saturday for his work night out.

The last person he spoke to was his girlfriend at 3am.

John's distraught sister, Helen McMillan, who had earlier said his family were 'worried sick' took to Facebook to say he had been traced.

She wrote: "Thank you to everyone who shared my post about my brother.

"He is home safe now. Haven't spoken to him yet to find out what happened but the main thing is he is back.

"Panic over.

"Thanks again. The power of Facebook is amazing."

Worried Helen asked her Facebook friends to help track John down first thing this morning.

She said: "My brother was out at his works night out last night and hasn't come home which is very unusual.

"He was at the Savoy Nightclub and his girlfriend last spoke to him at 3am.

"It was him and one other guy left and his workmate was picked up at 3:30am by his wife who said John was not there."

Helen added: "Myself, other brother and his partner have been out in town looking for him and went to the police station.

"He has not been brought into any stations and is not in any hospitals.

"All friends have been contacted and nobody has heard from him."

John isn't known to drink alcohol very often which is worrying his family even more.

"John rarely drinks but when he does he gets drunk easily and would have most likely have been in a vulnerable state." Helen said.

"We are worried sick.

"If anyone was out last night and recognises his face or knows anything please get in touch."

John is described as being around six feet tall with brown hair.

He was wearing a navy blue jacket, grey polo shirt, dark skinny jeans and black trainers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that officers were investigating John's disappearance.
