Issuing an appeal on Facebook, a PSNI spokesperson said: "We need your help to find 29-year-old Gavin McMahon - he is missing from the Whitewell Road area. He was last seen at around 8.30pm last night.

"He is described as follows - 6ft 2ins tall, skinny build, he has short ginger hair and a ginger beard. He has blue eyes and wears black rimmed glasses.

His mother informed the public on Monday night that Gavin had been found safe and she thanked everyone who helped look for him.
