TRAT: A fishing boat has rescued three fishermen after their boat sank on Wednesday, leaving them adrift in stormy seas off Muang district for 10 hours.

Jiraporn Sanohsutthiphan, kamnan of tambon Mai Rood, said Thursday that a coastal fishing boat spotted the three men in the sea at about 5am and brought them to the Mai Rood pier in tambon Mai Rood of Khlong Yai district at about 7am.

The three men were safe but one of them was exhausted with a low temperature as they had been adrift for about 10 hours.

They were treated at a local clinic of tambon Mai Rood before returning with relatives to Ban Laem Son village of tambon Ao Yai in Muang district.

The men were migrant workers identified only as Choem, Jet and Proh. Their four-tonne Tor Chok Siri Sombat fishing boat sank in rough seas Wednesday.
