Missing Emma Sutherland: police issue urgent appeal to help find 13 year old Edinburgh girl

Police in Edinburgh have issued an urgent appeal to help find a missing teenager in the capital.

Officers are trying to trace Emma Sutherland, a 13 year-old girl reported missing from Oxgangs.

The teenager was last seen at her home address around 9am on Sunday, 16 August. Her family last had contact with her late last night and they are concerned for her welfare.

She is described as being 5ft 6ins tall and of a slim build, long brown hair, blue eyes. At the time she went missing she was wearing a black jacket, grey leggings, black and white Nike trainers and carrying a grey handbag.

Inspector Keith Forrester from Wester Hailes police station said:

“Along with her family, we are becoming increasingly concerned for Emma’s welfare and we are keen to locate her as soon as possible. She is known to frequent the Oxgangs, Ferniehill and Howdenhall areas and I would urge anyone who may have seen her, or knows where she is, to contact us as soon as possible. Similarly, if Emma is reading this, please let us know you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0023 of Monday, 17 August. 2020.
