Human remains have been found in the search for missing Kilmarnock woman Emma Faulds, police have confirmed today.
The discovery was made yesterday in the Galloway Forest, Dumfries and Galloway.
Ms Faulds was last seen on the evening of Sunday, April 28.
Her disappearance sparked loved ones to launch a huge search to find her in the days and weeks after she vanished.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "On Wednesday, June 12, human remains were discovered in the Galloway Forest, Dumfries and Galloway."
"The family of Emma Faulds has been made aware of this discovery and police inquiries are ongoing."
