Missing Edinburgh teens spark major police search

Police are searching for two teenage girls who went missing in Edinburgh.

Shanelle Andrews, 15, and Sophie Smith, 14, were last seen around 6.30am yesterday in the Slateford Road area.

Cops have now asked anyone who may have seen them since to get in touch.

Shanelle is from the Fernieside area and Sophie is from Gilmerton.

The girls are believed to still be together.

Both have links to Westerhailes and the city centre areas.

Shanelle is described as a white Scottish female, approximately five foot four inches in height, medium build, long fair, blond hair.

She was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket with a fur hood, a neon pink crop top hoodie, ripped blue denim jeans and black Nike trainers with white soles.

Sophie is described as a white Scottish female, approximately five foot, seven inches in height, medium build, long fair blond hair.

Anyone who may have seen either of the girls, or who has any information on her whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 278 of May 6.
