Missing dog reunited with family following A38 blaze which completely destroyed home

For a family who has lost everything when a fire ripped through their home, today there has been some positive news.

Their beloved pet dog called Rosie disappeared after the blaze erupted in their Barrow Gurney home on Friday (May 10).

They launched a huge search mission to trace the  Jack Russell, but feared she could be badly hurt during the incident.

Today, their prayers have been answered after they discovered Rosie outside their burnt out home.

Abi Artus, aged 23, said: "We're so happy to get her back. My mum was particularly estastic.

"She was just outside of the house. She must have found her way home."

HMV has reopened in Cribbs Causeway just three months after it closed

Hour-long tailbacks built up on the A38 while firefighters tackled the blaze yesterday.  Passengers and flight crews were spotted ditching their vehicles and walking to Bristol Airport to avoid the gridlock.

Four crews from Avon Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the property at around 12:45pm on May 10. Despite their best efforts the blaze completely gutted the house.

Firefighters used two high pressures hose reels to extinguish the flames.
