Midlothian dog-owner pleads with locals after 'anxious' pet goes missing

A dog-owner in Penicuik is urging Midlothian locals to keep an eye out for her 'anxious' dog after he went missing this morning.

Anna Simpson said the pet, who is named Bryn, is a 'fast runner' who is unlikely to approach anyone due to his 'anxious nature'.

The dog went missing in the Deanburn area of Penicuik earlier this morning and has not yet been found.

In an appeal on social media the owner said: "Could I ask everyone doing their morning walk with the dog or just being out and about to keep an eye out for our lost dog.

"He's still wearing his red harness and leash attached to it, so he'd be quite easy to spot.

"Last seen in the Deanburn area an hour ago but he's a fast runner when he wants to be.

"He's really anxious so he'll probably won't approach anyone.

"Contacting the police and SSPCA so feel free to get in touch with them or me if you see him."

If you have seen Bryn you can contact the owner on this Facebook post.
