Missing defibrillator replaced after desperate appeal to Falkirk community

A missing defibrillator has been replaced following a desperate appeal to the Falkirk community.

The life-saving equipment was believed to have been taken from outside Airth Community Centre on High Street, Airth.

Forth Valley First Responders posted on social media yesterday to issue an appeal to residents about what had happened.

The volunteer group said the Scottish Ambulance Service normally alert them when it is in use but hadn't got in touch on this ocassion.

They said: "The defibrillator has either been taken and used from the cabinet to help save a life, or has been taken maliciously.

"We sincerely hope it’s the former.

"We would appeal to the community of Airth to contact us if they have any information that can help us piece this puzzle together.

"The defibrillator is currently out of service and we will replace it and put it back into service as soon as we can."

The following day, the group posted an update to say that the defibrillator had been put back in its place.

They added: "The defibrillator was put back into service again late last night

"Anyone with information around when and how it was used are encouraged to contact us."
