Missing comic artist Gordon McLean was last seen getting off train near South Queensferry

A man who went missing from his home in Greenock was last seen getting off a train near South Queensferry.

Comic artist Gordon McLean left his home on December 18 and has not been in touch with family or friends since then.

There are increasing concerns for his welfare and police have urged people to get in touch if they know his whereabouts.

The 39-year-old's family have now said he was briefly at Haymarket station on December 18, according to CCTV.

He then boarded a train to Dalmeny, to the west of Edinburgh, and disembarked there.

His sister Nicole Harron posted on Facebook saying: "It could be that he's went off the grid and hasn't seen anything about him on social media yet.

"Edinburgh hasn't been covered as well as the police were focusing more on Glasgow so please share with anyone you know in Edinburgh!"

Gordon is described as white, 5ft 10in tall with brown eyes, short brown hair, facial stubble and is normally wearing glasses.

Sergeant Andrew Stewart from Greenock police station said: "We are keen to establish his current whereabouts as soon as possible so that his loved ones aren't facing the prospect of entering the new year without any knowledge as to where he is.

"Anyone who belives they can assist with this ongoing investigation is urged to come forward.

"I would also ask that Gordon make contact with ourselves, or with family or friends, to confirm he is safe."

Those with information can contact Greenock Police Station via 101 and quote incident number 3388 of the December 26.
