Charlie Bell found: 61-year-old man reported missing in Edinburgh found safe and well

A 61-year-old man reported missing in Edinburgh has been found safe and well.

Charlie Bell left his home in Wardieburn Road in the Granton area at around 7.30am on today (2 September) to visit his local post office.

However, the 61-year-old initially failed to return home and police issued a public appeal for information as to his whereabouts.

Charlie lives with Type 2 diabetes, which requires daily treatment and it was not known if he had taken his medication.

Concern was growing for his wellbeing and police said his disappearance is "extremely out-of character".

Edinburgh Police confirmed early on Tuesday morning that he has now been found.
