Missing cat appeal after stowaway Meg bales out in Perth

The search is on for a stowaway farm cat that leapt off a lorry in Perth’s busy Dunkeld Road.

Two-year old Meg, a tabby from Angus was hiding on board the trailer stacked with round straw bales, after mistakenly hitching a ride.

She had travelled 30 chilly miles on the open trailer from her home in Kellas, on the north side of Dundee, then she was seen jumping off in Perth on Monday afternoon.

Had she not got off there, Meg would have risked a further dual carriageway ordeal as the delivery load headed west.

A motorist on Dunkeld Road just behind the bale trailer saw a big tabby cat with white paws jump off ahead of her as the traffic queued on the artery road through Perth.

The frightened moggy was seemingly unhurt and disappeared towards Asda.

Missing Meg is microchipped and will answer to Fluffy too.

Katie McCandless-Thomas of Missing Pets Perth and Kinross tracked down the cat’s owners after pictures went on social media.

The country cat had been rehomed to a farm after spending time at Angus Cat Rescue.

The cat’s new family expect she’s hungry and hope she can be persuaded to come inside so someone can collect her.

If Meg is found, please call Val on 07491 992811.
