Missing Castle Huntly prisoner found after police manhunt

A prisoner who failed to return to an open prison in Perthshire has been traced by police.

Ryan Stewart, who is an inmate at HMP Castle Huntly in Longforgan, had been granted home leave - however he failed to return when scheduled, and was officially reported missing on Tuesday, March 3.

Police Scotland have now confirmed the 34-year-old has been arrested in the Perth area.

He is due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday, 9 March.

Officers would like to thank all those who supported the previous appeal for information.
