Missing Carson Shephard found safe and well after vanishing

Carson Shephard has been traced safe and well, police have confirmed.

The seven-year-old boy vanished last night but police have said the youngster has been found this morning.

Police deployed marine and dog units, and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service water support unit also aided in the search and recue mission.

Late last night and early today, people from across Ayrshire travelled to the village to help in the search.

In a brief statement cops said: "We are pleased to report that 7-year-old Carson Shephard, reported missing from New Cumnock has been found safe and well.

"Officers would like to thank everyone who assisted in this inquiry."
