Missing Carson Shephard found 'safe and well' after huge search

Missing Carson Shephard has been found after a massive search.

Police have announced the news that the seven-year-old who vanished from New Cumnock last night has now been traced and thanked the local community for their help.

Police were outside a home in New Cumnock (Daily Record)

A statement issued around 10.10am this morning read: "Carson Traced - We are pleased to report that 7-year-old Carson Shephard, reported missing from New Cumnock has been found safe and well. Officers would like to thank everyone who assisted in this inquiry."

A huge search was last night with specialist police and fire service resources deployed in a bid to find the youngster- including the police helicopter, marine and dog units, and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service water support unit and search parties from the local community.

Locals were asked to search their sheds and outbuildings.
