Missing Cambuslang teen Kai Rae spotted boarding train to London

Missing Cambuslang teenager Kai Rae has been spotted boarding a train to London, Police Scotland have revealed.

Police are desperately searching for the missing 16-year-old who vanished over a week ago.

Kai Rae was last seen in the Castle Chimmins Road area of Cambuslang at around 8.50am on November 23.

Now officers have confirmed he was recently spotted getting on a train heading south.

The 16-year-old, who is a student at Anniesland College in Glasgow, was wearing a dark blue or black zipped hoodie and dark blue jogging bottoms when he disappeared.

He is believed to have packed extra clothing and cash before leaving his home.

Extensive searches have been carried out in the local area by kindhearted residents alongside his friends and family but no trace of him has yet been found.

His disappearance is described as ‘completely out of character’ and concern for his welfare continues to grow.

Inspector Stephen McManus, Rutherglen police said: “Following extensive CCTV enquiries, we have established that Kai boarded a train to the London area on Monday, November 23.

“We are working with British Transport Police and the Metropolitan Police as part of our enquiries to trace him.”

Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne has also issued an appeal for Kai to return home.

In a video message on social media, he said: “Hi Kai, it’s Gazza here. Do us a favour? “Please get home. People are missing you.”

The footballer then blew a kiss at the camera.

And former special forces hero Big Phil Campion made a heartfelt online appeal for Kai Rae to get in touch with his worried relatives after he disappeared.

Big Phil, who served in Sierra Leone, Northern Ireland and Bosnia before becoming a security contractor, speaker, author and TV personality, said: “This is a shout out - we are looking for a young lad, he is 16-years-old, Kai Rae.

“If you do know his whereabouts, please get in touch with the police or anybody who might be able to help.

“Kai, if you see this, please mate, just go home. Your family are massively missing you.”

Anyone who may have seen Kai or has anyone information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1144 of 23 November.
