A bushwalker who suffered hypothermia, dehydration and abrasions has been taken to hospital after he went missing in the Olney State Forest.
The 52-year-old man was separated from a family member while bushwalking about 24 kilometres west of Morriset.
About 4.40am on Wednesday, emergency services were called to The Basin Campground when the man did not return to the campsite.
Emergency services established a command post and launched a multiagency, coordinated land and air search.
Hunter Valley Police District officers, with the help of PolAir, Police Rescue, NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service and Volunteer Rescue Association searched for the man.
About 10.25am, PolAir found the missing bushwalker.
He was winched up to the aircraft and flown to George Downes Drive at Bucketty where NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed him for injuries.
The man was treated for mild hypothermia, dehydration and abrasions before he was taken to Gosford Hospital.
