Missing boy woke up outside Perth home

A boy who went missing in a stolen car in Perth has been found safe. (AAP)

A seven-year-old boy woke up unharmed outside a Perth home after a carjacker stole an SUV with him inside it.

The boy was inside the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport when it was stolen from Napier Street in Morley in the city's northeast on Saturday night.

The car owner's son was inside the vehicle at the time, with the incident sparking an urgent police search and social media campaign to find him.

WA Police confirmed the boy woke up in the back of the SUV on Sunday morning.

The car was mysteriously parked at a Forrestfield home and the child spoke to an occupant who promptly called police.

The boy was picked up by officers and taken to the local station where he was reunited with his mother "safe and well", WA Police said.

Police will investigate the theft of the vehicle and how it came to be parked at the home, with anyone who saw the SUV in Morley or Forrestfield urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
