Divers have recovered the body of a missing schoolboy in the early hours of the morning after an overnight underwater search.
The head of the specialist team called in to search for the teenager is now warning parents and teenagers to be careful when swimming in open water during the warm weather.
Emergency services were called to a popular swimming spot on the River Thames between Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, and Cookham, Berkshire, yesterday at 3pm following reports that a 13-year-old boy had got into difficulty and had not been seen leaving the water.
After several hours of searching a team of six specialist divers from Surrey-based Specialist Group International, which covers the whole of the South East, was called in the evening and worked through the night assisting Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police.

The boy's body was recovered in the early hours of the morning.
A high frequency side scan sonar was used to help locate the body.
It is believed the boy, who has not been named, got into trouble while swimming in a popular swimming area.
Peter Faulding, founder and Chief Executive of SGI, said: "Every year we put out water safety messages and we urge people to take care around the water.
“The water is cold, there is danger of cold water shock and there are hazards such as underwater weeds that are not always apparent.
“We average 10 drownings a year and it is always teenagers.
“A few years ago there were two drownings within two weeks in exactly the same place.
“We are expecting more this week because of the warm weather and half term.
“If you have young children, make sure they wear life jackets if they are in the water."
