Missing boy, 8, thought to be in Dublin after failing to board plane out of Liverpool

An eight-year-old boy missing from Liverpool is thought to be in Dublin after failing to board a plane.

Merseyside Police are urgently trying to trace Andrei Stoian, aged eight, and mum Georgeta who have gone missing after both did not turn up for a booked European flight out of Liverpool's John Lennon Airport in late May, Liverpool Echo reports.

Officers want to ensure both of them are safe after they went missing from their home in Tranmere.

Detectives say the mother and child could have travelled to Ireland and may be in Dublin.

A police spokesman told the Echo: "Andrei Stoian was due to take a flight with his mother Georgeta in May from Liverpool John Lennon Airport but they did not board.

"Andrei and Georgeta live in Harrowby Road, Tranmere but information suggests they may now be in Dublin, Ireland."

Andrei is described as being of slim build, with olive skin, black hair of medium length with a straight fringe.

Anyone with information is urged to contact @MerPolCC, call 101 or Missing People on 116 000.
