Missing boy, 7, found safe and well following major overnight search

A seven-year-old boy who went missing last night has been found safe and well.

Carson Shephard was reported missing on Sunday, September 19, he had last been seen at around 7.20pm.

His disappearance was reported in New Cumnock in Ayshire, Scotland.

Police issued an urgent appeal to the public with a police helicopter, marine and dog units Scottish Fire and Rescue Service water support unit all involved in looking for him, Glasgow Live reports.

Members of the local community also took part in the search.

Police Scotland has confirmed Carson has been found safe and well, thanking the public for their help.

A statement from the force reads: "We are pleased to report that 7-year-old Carson Shephard, reported missing from New Cumnock has been found safe and well. Officers would like to thank everyone who assisted in this inquiry."
