Missing boy, 11, found after police launched extensive search

An 11-year-old boy who went missing over the Christmas holidays has now been found.

Police issued an appeal to help find Abdullah Akram, after he was last seen on Belvedere Road, Toxteth on the morning of Tuesday, December 28.

Officers said that an 'extensive' search was underway to track down the boy.

When last spotted, at around 10am on Tuesday, Abdullah was wearing a black Nike tracksuit, black Adidas shoes and carrying a small satchel.

This morning, Merseyside police confirmed that he had been found safe and well.

A spokesperson said: "Thanks for everyone who shared our appeal. Abdullah Akram is safe and well and is now back at home."
