Missing Ayrshire parrot reunited with owner as dog walker who found her refuses £1,000 reward

A parrot has been reunited with her owner after a £1000 reward was put up to get the precious girl home.

Mylo, a female African Grey, flew off last Tuesday after she got spooked and escaped out of owner Tommy Maughan’s communal stair window.

She was last seen along Ayr Main Street flying in the direction of Prestwick and thankfully was found in Prestwick’s Ardfin Road on Friday.

Owner Tommy, of Ayr, was desperate to bring home his talkative girl – who repeats words and phrases including Alexa, Gemma and Night Guys – and also makes sounds like a Samsung message tone.

Tommy beamed: “Mylo has been found and is now home with us!

“A very kind woman called Michelle was walking her dog and Mylo flew onto her shoulder. She put her jacket over her and called me to have me collect her.

“She also refused any reward that was on offer. What a beautiful person she is!

“We will be arranging a voucher for a meal, some drinks and some flowers as her kind gesture can’t be go unappreciated.

“Mylo is now home recovering with some antibiotics.”
