Missing Ayrshire man last seen in Chelsea football jacket sparks police appeal

Police have launched an appeal to try and trace a 52-year-old man who has been reported missing from his home in Beith.

Allan Ewing was last seen around 12noon yesterday near to the cemetery on Kings Road.

He is described as white, 6ft 1in tall and of slim build with shaved grey hair and he has some teeth missing.

When he was last seen he was wearing a navy Chelsea Football Club jacket, grey shorts with a red stripe and white trainers. He wears black-rimmed glasses.

Sergeant Gordon Young, of Irvine police office, said: “It is completely out of character for Allan to go missing and we are concerned for his wellbeing.

"Searches and enquiries are ongoing to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact 101 quoting reference 1836 of 24 August.
